Sou thought out loud in Fun, Personal, Movies, Books

I don’t normally read books that include politics or are of a political nature…but around 2 years ago, I borrowed a book from mushi (which she had borrowed from another girl!) the book was called ‘In The Time Of The Butterflies’ and never before had I ever read anything so powerful and emotional. I won’t tell you what it’s about, for you have to find that out for yourselves ;). When I buy a book, I make sure it’s the kind that I can finish in 3 days and laugh, laugh, laugh…and I have this to confess…wen I borrowed ‘in the time of the butterflies” I didn’t even read the synopsis, I didn’t really care what it was about, I saw the word “butterflies” and I knew this was going to be a magnificent book (ok, I know that I sound like the kind of person that judges a book by it’s cover–but i’m not, it just happened in 2 cases–first was with this book, and the second wen I bought ‘the devil wears prada’–) and to prove that i’m not the type, ask anyone that’s been shopping with me, wen we stop by Virgin Megastore, i’m there for nearly half an hour searching for the right book. I couldn’t wait to reach home so I could start reading it!! I got home, changed into my blue Winnie the Pooh pjs, slipped into bed and started to read, and read and read and read…I didn’t finish it, if that’ what you’re thinking…unfortunately I had to stop reading it for a couple of days coz I was packing up my bags, I was traveling to Egypt for the summer holiday!! The day I traveled, I put the book in my bag (hoping that I would read it on the plane—but I didn’t unfortunately!!) wen I finally got to Egypt, it took me 3 days to actually settle down and start reading!!! Apparently my parents had planned for us to go travel to the North Coast (il sa7el il shimali—I hope the North Coast is the correct translation!!) that meant 2 days of no reading, wen we got there and I figured, wow, great time to relax and read my book!! And that’s exactly what happened, I sat at the beach, the sun shining down on me (I got sun burnt :p) but that’s not the point, the point was it was beautiful, the waves crashing on the beach, the sunset and the solitude!! I STRONGLY recommend this book to anyone that wants to how women are stronger than they seem!!
And to all the people that don’t like reading books, you’re lucky, Salma Hayek starred in the movie! So there you go, now you can either read the book or watch the movie…and a little request, to my friends with “money…I want you to buy me the book! Because obviously I had to give it baq!! :p and urs truly doesnt have enough cash :P time to sign off, enjoy, and ta ta for now :*

P.S.
Yesterday (Nov.25th) was the day the Mirabal sisters were murdered. November 25th has been declared by the United Nations, “International Day Against Violence Against Women”
