Viva Egypt!! | September 8th 2005
From BBCArabic.com: Twenty four years are not enough for change, and the president wants more? Is it possible for him to achieve now what he couldn’t achieve in 24 years? Why aren’t Egyptians abroad allowed to vote? If I were in Egypt I would have voted for Ayman Noor, the best of the bad. By the way, I’ve been ruled by Mubarak since I was born.

“Why aren’t Egyptians abroad allowed to vote?”
Yeah! WHY AREN’T we allowed to vote?! I mean, we’re Egyptians too!!! Urgh, this is SO frustrating!! Denied the right to vote because we live abroad! I feel…beyond ticked off!!!!
On the other hand, i was browsing thru Yahoo’s collection of images taken from today’s Election..and well, i feel so patriotic! I mean, I love Egypt! I wanted to be there today! I wanted to contribute! I wanted to stand in the crowd! I wanted to ride the tattered cabs! I wanted to…I wanted to…I wanted to..
I wanted to do a lot of things..but you see, i don’t always get what i want. All i did today was sit on
my bum for 6hrs straight and watched the news. Watched how voters were dipping their fingers in freakishly looking red-ink and how they were crowding around the polling stations. And the
‘Kefaya’ (Enough) Party were demonstrating; where’d they find the time?! urgh. Anyhoos…in a nutshell i wanted to be there!! How cool is it, i mean voting and everything?! For the FIRST time in Egyptian history! Wow! Well just coz i didn’t make it for the first elections, doesn’t mean i’m giving up hope for making it to the next one!! Next one is in six years and inshalla i’ll VOTE and get my pinky dipped in freakishly red ink! YAY! I’ll contribute and make a difference, i’ll stand in the crowd and ride the tattered cabs! A girl can dream you know! 2011, HERE I COME! I wonder what the voters felt! Were the excited, happy, sad, confused, ticked off? Well i’m sure they all felt patriotic! Is it just me, or has anybody else noticed the increase of songs about Egypt on Melody & Mazzika? Excellent propaganda i must say…
Here are some more pictures from todays elections…

I wish i was there *sigh* Well, results are in three days, ARE they going to be what the majority suspected it to be? Or are they going to be different…? Who knows…Alright dahlings, those were my loud thoughts on the Elections…(Yes Yaz, much to your delight, it’s i’ve written another semi-political entry)
Time to sign off. Till next time World!
Ta ta for now :*
