Tip, Top, Ready to Go

A part of me actually misses the university I used to attend *sigh* I miss their working computers, the printers available in the blink of an eye, actual help…The list could go on forever, but then again, I always remind myself that I’m better off than many, even if I attend a university with one of the ickiest computer labs on the face of the Earth. Right? RIGHT? What did you think I’d say I miss the people there? Spare me the bull poop, seriously; I don’t miss a living soul there. Hmm, well except Dr. K, she was amazing and she actually believed in my writing.
Moving on…..
I was waiting for my 2pm class to start today and while I was waiting, I stood outside the classroom and observed my surroundings (”observed my surroundings” I sound like Jeff Corwin, :p) So anyways, I obsereved the other students, and I’m not exaggerating when I say this, but most of the male students wore dishdashas and females wore black abayas. The odd male and female in amidst the majority were wearing a t-shirt and jeans. It got me wondering what my university life would’ve been like if I were studying in Egypt. How many students would’ve worn dishdashas or abayas? Close to none, right? I know dishdashas and abayas are part of the tradition here, etc…But it just got me thinking, you know? It’s amazing how one culture, no matter how alike they are in some aspects, could be so different.
If I’m not making any sense, it’s okay, I had a long day, two brutal presentations w fe3lan mesh shayfa odami. Almost two hours left till I’m out of here and back home…home, home, home!
The urge to rant just hit me, so bear with me. Again, while waiting for my 2pm class to begin, a girl with me in class thought it would be hilarious to smack me on the back with her text book, which may I add, is 1000 pages thick. What on Earth was she thinking?!!! My back kills from lugging around half the contents of my room (exaggeration) but now she added wound to injury by smacking me on the back with a brick of a book. Why, oh, why do these things happen to me? OH! Like earlier this morning, SAME thing happened to be. I was on another campus and a girl I used to take Islamic Civilization with decided that it would be hilarious to scare the living daylights out of me. Tell me this, freaking tell me this, is there a piece of paper with ‘please abuse me’ written on it?! I’ve been cracking my fingers and they’re about to fall off.
I need to relax, I need to relax, I need to relax.
On a lighter note, I’m going out with H and F tomorrow afternoon for lunch; girls out and about! :) I haven’t seen F in almost four years! Catching up will be fun, I’m really looking forward to tomorrow.

Oh, i hate when people do that, they come along and hit you on the back or in your shoulder, and while it’s really hurtin they’ll start laughing :shock: i dont knw either wt the hell they thinkin, and Sou well observing my campus in Cairo University, i wud say tht Alotttt and am not exaggerating alot of girls wear abayas now, more than u can imagin, it became like a unifrom , i swear i cant sometimes knw who is who , all look the same..but for the guys they just wear normally..

I agree smack her back. If she thinks it’s funny to hit you on the back with a text book , hit her on the head with a dictionary and tell her that her expression was comedy gold before she slips into a coma.
A lot of girls wear BLACK 3abayas at my faculty, too. I really dislike it. If they want to dress decently there are other ways to do it. Each to their own though I guess.

I actually am surprised, I’ve been hearing from friends that lots of girls are wearing them. I didn’t know the Kaifan campus was going multinational :p

Anyway… the college I went to was filled with people of all ages and all body styles and fashion senses. I also had 2 muslim people in one of my classes that were 100% traditional in their dress, hehe. Anyway, perk up ;)

& of all people, I know how it feels to be craving to go home to your sweet warm bed .. I know .. believe me I damn know.. I haven’t been home this week except for 2 times.. for 7 hours which I slept .. imagine!
Now. . Those girls have a terribly wrong idea about humor.. begad.. I mean if someone did that to me.. the next thing he/she would know is me slapping the living soul out of him!
