The “Shamshoons” | September 10th 2005

Sou thought out loud in Fun, Television, Ramadan

The who?!!

Well i was watching MBC earlier this evening and i was in for the shock of my life! Well not really the shock of my LIFE..but i was pretty shocked; HAPPY-SHOCKED…o whatever i can keep on going on and on and on about how “shocked” i was forever…so i’ll cut it short..

I was watching MBC and that’s when i heard Homer Simpson speak in…ARABIC!! Yes, yes!! Homer Simpson can speak Arabic! So can Bart, Lisa and Marge!! yay!!!

The Simpsons

The Arabic version of ‘The Simpsons’ is going to be called ‘Al-Shamshoons’. It’s going to be aired during the month of Ramadan! Super cool, finally, something different to watch!! No more drama! LOL, of course i’ve already booked all 30 days of Ramadan (starting October 4th) to watch the Egyptian series ‘El-3ameel 1001′ (Agent 1001) It’s an espionage themed series with my favourite actor…ok, wait…WAIT…i ‘m supposed to be talking about ‘The Simpsons’; why am i drifting off the subject *sigh* hehehe..Where was i? O yeah! Something else to watch! I can’t wait!! Problem is, .my parents despise ‘The Simpsons’ so i’ll probably have to tape it, and i hope the shows timings don’t clash with ‘El-3ameel 1001′ or any of the shows my parents are going to watch..grrr!

Anyhoos, here are the Egyptian actors that are going to lend their voices (main roles)…

Mohammed Heneidi as Homer
Hanan Turk as Bart/Lisa

Rojeena as Marge

Time to sign off. Till next time World!Ta ta for now :*

*raising 2 thumbs for the delicate taste that her family is blessed with… and hoping she comes back to her senses* I HATE THE SIMPSONS…

although it would be intersting to see them in egyptian… I liked what they did in PIXAR movies!!!

*~$&!~* | September 10th, 2005

Yaz: O shush!! ‘The Simpsons’ i MEAN ‘Al-Shamshoon’ are funny!!! LOL! they’re outrageous!

Did u see ‘Timon and Pumba’?! Mohammed Heneidi was Timon, it’s waaaay better in Egyptian than it was in English actually, i thought everything was funnier! hehe..Did you watch the Lebanese version of ‘Pepper Ann’?! THREE WORDS: DID NOT WORK! hehe..

Almond | September 10th, 2005

hehehe homer simpson speaking arabic? He can barely speak English hahaha! Funny stuff though.

How’s the theme music? like the beginning? AL-SHAMSHOONS! yay!!

3baid | September 10th, 2005

AWESOME! :D

I think it might sound funnier in arabic :P

Aquarius | September 10th, 2005

My son likes Bart Simpson. He used to enjoy watching the cartoon very much. Now he is caught up with so many things that he doesn’t get to watch it anymore. Enjoy it while you can. Cheers!

*~$&!~* | September 10th, 2005

Almond: LOL! “He can barely speak English”

Now, that was funny! LOL!

Well i haven’t heard the theme music yet..but i’m sure it’s the same but with ‘Al-Shamshoon’ LOL!!

3baid: Of course it’ll sound funnier ;) hehe

Aquarius: Bart Simpson rocks! He reminds me of my own brother–without the sinister personality :p lol…

I’ll try watching every SINGLE episode in Ramadan, yay! :)

Omar | September 10th, 2005

The simposons is one hell of a show, but do you really think the jokes in it will make Arabs laugh.

I find North American humour to be vastly different from Arab humour.

eyes of a tragedy | September 10th, 2005

glad to hear you got the simpsons, that show is way funny…ah good old homer…

yep, it was inspired by helena be mcr, my friend and i made a deal, whoever dies first sets up the others funeral to look that way, haha.

*~$&!~* | September 11th, 2005

Omar: Hey! Thanx for dropping by :)

And you’re right it IS one helluva show, i LOVE IT!

Well, i guess they’ll specially come up with equivilant jokes that’ll make us Arabs laugh; or else they wouldn’t have made an Arabic version of it, sa7? ;)

Eyes o.a. Tragedy: We got’em! yay! I watch it on Paramount anways! I just can’t WAIT to see what they’re going to sound like in an Egyptian dialect!!! woohoo!!

Erm, you actually agreed to that deal?! WOW! That’s gonna be one heck of a funeral!!! hehehe..

moe | September 11th, 2005

Lol! I want to hear Homer say ‘Kofta’ before I die.

I don’t know how they’ll translate all of the perverted jokes ususally present in the normal, English show.

Drunk'n'Gorgeous | September 11th, 2005

Hey you! How’s it going sweetie? Mohammed Heneidi is hilarious so I can’t wait to see “Al-Shamshoon” :D Thanks for the headsup! Actually I can’t wait till Ramadan starts altogether :D Take care of you, yeah? Laters!

PeTiTa | September 12th, 2005

Oh I haven’t heard about that..I like the simpsons but usually shows that are translated suck I think they lose the humor along the languages, watching a cartoon with a guy talking fi97a arabic is not my idea of a good time!

I like how you’re already planning on spening ramadan watching tv, I always do that, I hope I don’t this year, I am like addicted to all the mosalsalat :P

*~$&!~* | September 12th, 2005

Moe: Erm, i don’t think he’s going to say ‘Kofta’ it would be cool if he does tho!!

LOL! I don’t think they will translate the perverted joke, ESPECIALLY in Ramadan :p LOL!

DnG: HIYA!! Welcome back hun!!

I can’t wait till Ramadan starts either! yay! And ‘Al-Shamshoon’ are definatley going to spice things up, hehehe

Petita: Bas they aren’t going to talk in “fos7a” Arabic!! They’re going to talk in the Egyptian Dialect! FUN-NY!! :D

Yes, watching TV! LOL! Bas uni’s going to be occupying most of my time as well as Praying (NATURALLY!)

I can’t wait till i see Mostafa Shaban on TV!!! *bounces around like a lunatic*

Agent 1001 is Mostafa Shaban’s new TV series!! hehe I’ll tell you when it’s going to be on TV and which channel when i get the listings ;)

Stich ‘n ‘Match: And it’s SOOO good having you here again :D

Thanx, i’m glad you like the new layout!! :*

Well it’s going to be something “different” to watch in Ramadan, away from all the dramatic series that are aired during the month! So ya “Shamshoon!”

J.C.: Hehehe, it’s definatley going to be something new to “laugh out loud” to, whether it be because it’s really cheesy or because they’re funny :p hehehe
