Sou thought out loud in Music, Books, YouTube, University

I’m sipping on lukewarm green tea. Oh joy; such a great way to start the day.

I woke up an hour ago, and the first thing on my mind, literally, was: “Crap! My papers for my Literary Criticism class!” I guess that was the real “great start to the day”. If it’s any consolation (to myself), I’ve got half the Marxist theory paper done, and I’ve got a title for my research paper (due on Wednesday) - yes, just a title. I’ve been telling myself over and over again that I work better under pressure; so who knows, I might be typing away at 4 AM on Wednesday. Let’s hope the latter isn’t true and I actually get over and done with this paper in the next three days.

I’m exploring new music, which is a breath of fresh air, because I was starting to get bored of the music I listen to over, and over, and over, and over again. I came across the Violent Femmes when I was reading The Time Traveller’s Wife, and I thought to myself: “Oh what the heck, it won’t hurt to check them out.” That’s what I did, I listened to the track mentioned in the book, Blister in the Sun, and I’ve had it on repeat for the at least the last half hour.

Click here to watch Blister in the Sun.

I don’t usually add two music videos in one post unless I’m trying to showcase the beyond-words awesomeness of an artist. I started writing out this post with a chosen “end of post song”, and I had no intention on adding Blister in the Sun. To make a long story short, I present to you Not in a Million Years by, the Maltese Indie band, Beangrowers. (Don’t ask how I find my music, if I tell you, I’ll have to kill you, haha.)

Till next time world.

PS. When I started writing this post, it was 11:30 AM, now it’s almost 1:30 PM. I forgot to publish the post. Go figure.

Amethyst | July 26th, 2008

Oh, and I like the music;p

Sou | July 26th, 2008

Amethyst: Easier said than done my dear. I finished the Marxist theory paper, any good? ;p

Hanan | July 26th, 2008

So if you find ‘not well-planned’ or ‘rushed’ scribbled on your paper it’d be totally justified, wouldn’t it? Just be careful not to let your teacher know you are writing a research paper in a mere 3 or 4 days ;)

OpeRonĀ® | July 27th, 2008

Nice songs.. Great day, it is :)

Sou | July 27th, 2008

Hanan: The only way she’ll find out is if you tell her, and you won’t do that. Right? :) If anything, she should admire that I wrote a paper in 3 days; it’s more challenging that way, and us independent woman are always up for a challenge! ;)

Operon: Glad you liked the songs. :D

That’s one awesome book you’re reading!

Sarah: We shouldn’t reveal our secret though. Where we get our music stays with us. Shhh. :)

Sweet Lemon: Thanks hun.

Coconut: Glad you liked it. :)

F: I’m in love with it! I’ve actually reached the point where I don’t want to finish it because I don’t want it to end; I’m sure you’re familiar with that feeling. You know what they say though, “all good things must come to an end”, which is exactly why I’m reading two-three pages a day. I know, I know. ;p

Glad you like the music, and thanks for the wishes; I’m typing out the paper now (multitasking, yes, yes.)
