Infatuation: Day 2 | August 10th 2006
It’s 2:40 and I walked into the house half an hour ago. I can’t feel my feet and I’m in excrutiating pain! Who knew ‘leilet el henna’ was going to be so tiring? I didn’t sit down once all the 4 hours that I was at my cousin’s house - I’m not exaggerating! We went 3 hours late. The thing started at 7 and we went at 10, ommi ba2a, a3mel eh?! :p I didn’t get any henna designs done because the woman who was doing them sucked; her designs kanno zay weshaha :yuck:
The day started out fine…my youngest cousin H came over and insisted I give her a complete makeover [for the record, she’s only 7] Thinking of which, can someone please explain to me why children in Egypt act as if they’re adults, I mean, why do they seem like they’ve been married twice and divorced with 5 kids?! The first thing my cousin S (4yrs) told me, “Sou, enti etghayarti, makansh shaklek kedda!” (You’ve changed, you didn’t look like that!”) I haven’t been to Egypt in 3 years, she’s 4 now…do the maths, how on Earth would she remember what I looked like 3 years ago?!
I went to the coiffeur at around 4 this afternoon; our appointment was at 2pm but mom, my aunt, my cousins and myself arrived at 4. I told mom, “mesh manzar ya3ni nedkhol 2 hours late!” Then mom said, “Mate2la2ish, Masr, Masr!” :| Ro7na coiffeur Mohammed El-Soghayar in Le Meridien and there was only ONE female hairdresser, the rest were men! I forgot that in Egypt men ruled the coiffeur industry! hehe…The guy blowdrying my hair criticized the way my hair was cut and insisted that he could fix it…My cousin R’s wedding is on Friday, so I’ll probably get it cut Friday morning :)
“3an ezn seyatik, ana mo3gab besyatek!” I was singing that bit over and over again from the ride back home from R’s place! I want a leilet henna too!!! But I don’t want to get married *sigh* So what should I do?! I want to have a bazillion people dancing around me! And my husband to be to sing to me and stuff *sigh* :sosad: Oh, you’re probably wondering how a guy went to the all-girl thingie..well men started to come to the gathering at around 12am…any prospective husbands? No. No. No. I have a feeling I’m going to end up a spinster :we3: My aunt said, “So Sou, when are you getting married? Mesh yekoun 3andek dam w tetgawezi ba2a?!” The only thing that went through my head was, “&*^%*#O&%#$$$@@!” I don’t want to get married, well at least not now…or ever :| I’m never going to find the person in my head, even if I did, he probably won’t feel the same way; 7azzi kedda :(
There was a girl, H, at the leilet henna, and she could belly dance like..wow, better than any professional belly dancer I’ve ever seen in my life! Other than that, she’s very pretty! My brother has a thing for her…he’s talking to me about her now! “Sou, what did you and ‘H’ say? I saw her talking to you, what were you talking about? She’s very pretty, isn’t she? I think she is. She’s pretty, mom agrees too, and do you know how difficult it is for mom to say a girl’s pretty? And did you see her dance, N said that H probably used muscles that nobody ever used, ever. I’m actually thinking of her, I’m not thinking of her as “liking” her, I just want to get to know her, I want to put like a character to her, like I want to know what kind of personality she has. I’ll talk to her at the wedding, I’m going to be in a suit, I’ll have confidence, a suit is a man’s confidence! There was a lot of eye contact, she looked at me a lot. Being an athlete I never have time to think about girls, or getting into a relationship. I don’t go out with friends and I don’t have time for girls; I’m just too focused on playing basketball. I don’t know what I’ll say to her! I need a plan, and it needs to be bulletproof! *looks at me* What are you typing?! Ya benti, etkalemi ma3aya…anyways, What’s her voice like? (If this isn’t infatuation, I don’t know what the hell is!) I’ve got a plan, me you and her will go out sometime. I feel like it’s an opportunity to rest my mind from thinking about basketball. Between you and I, I just want to know what the eye contact was for.”
My brother has no idea that I wrote everything he said. I’m evil, yes, I know! BWAHAHAHAHHA! So the boy’s fallen, and he’s fallen hard! A never talks to me about things like this…cute, yeah? My baby monkey is in LURVE!  hehehe…A is infatuated by H, awwww!
So back to me, and my happenings, since I’m way importance :D [riiightt,]. So Friday might be a good opportunity to check if R and her husband to be A have any good looking guy friends :p Maybe I won’t end up a spinster. :upside: We’ll be staying at the Mirage hotel thingie for a few days next week, mom’s idea of a “masyaf alternative”, I hope it turns out well, I want to wear my new swim suit and shock everyone with the plunging cleavage line…is dad going to kill me or what?! LOL! Mesh masyaf ba2a? Tab eshrabo :p lol…
My brother and I are sitting in the balcony, and it’s been 10 mins since he stopped talking about H, now he’s listening to “Real Love” by Massari. I shot him a look and he said, “It’s not what you think, I knew you were going to give me that look! I’m just singing because I’m bored. Law mesh 3ayzani aghani, talk to me, stop typing…”
It’s 3:40, I’m super tired and I need to wake up badri bokra because I’m going to City Stars with my uncle’s wife N to shop :D I fixed the new Swatch watch that I got, it’s the gold one that everyone in Kuwait’s got, which is a total drag, but it’s got a big face and I’m into watches with big faces, it’s a reasonable price and anyone who disagrees can kiss my behind  Oh, it’s what I bought from the duty free in Abu Dhabi when my brother insisted that I go with him, I only bought it for 32 KD, how much is it in Kuwait?
Right, so I mentioned that I was tired? If not, then I am, and really tired kaman *yawns* I’m going to call it a night. I don’t want to leave the balcony, yhe weather is amazing, and the breeze is enchanting! It’s 4 am and a neighbor of ours just walked into the building. What the heck was he doing out so late?!! Eh el nass dih? I thought walking in with Mama and A at 2 was late?!! Eh dah?!!
Ouff, balash waga3 demagh, I’m going to call it a night!
Time to sign off. Till next time world!
Ta ta for now :*
