I’m brash - sometimes more often than is tolerated by others.
I’m the girl…
Who’ll never fit the caliber I am expected to, trust me.
You avoid because she’s too outspoken.
Who you call up when you’re feeling down.
Who isn’t afraid to laugh out loud.
Who has a sincere smile on her face most of the time.
Who isn’t afraid to tell you when you look like shit - truth hurts, but what the hell.
Who laughs at herself.
Who sings out loud in public.
Who’ll make whooshing noises while waving around an imaginary sword in public.
Who’s insanely far from “almost perfect”, and couldn’t be any prouder at the fact.
Who won’t worry herself over “what their bitter hearts are going to say.”
And you know what? I wouldn’t change for the world; I’d never give up on being who I am. And to think I was actually starting to doubt myself and who I was a person. Shame on me…shame on me.
In self-doubt, I always resort to The Middle by Jimmy Eat World.
