Every Second DOES Count | June 24th 2005
Firstly, I’d like to thank Georganna Hancock for taking the time to read my blog and…well check out what she’s written over here.
So i’m still sick, if anything, my cold has gotten worse!! Yesterday, I couldn’t hear with my right ear and my head felt like it weighed a ton! I wasn’t even at home resting; I was helping my mom with her exhibition (it was fun watching all the other women dress like they were walking curtains, kind of made me forget i was sick :p) It was in Al-Bustan Complex (mall?) And I didn’t really do anything but read ‘Every Second Counts’. I think my favourite part in the whole book was when Lance wrote:
“Pain is good because it teaches your body and your soul to improve. It’s almost as though your unconscious says, “I’m going to remember this, remember how it hurt, and I’ll increase my capacities so that next time, it doesn’t hurt as much.”
-Lance Armstrong, Every Second Counts. pp 223
I finished the book 4 hours ago, and it’s wonderful, and Lance (with the help of Sally Jenkins) has expressed himself beautifully-and like i mentioned before, it’s as if he were sitting right here speaking to me. It’s such a personal book (duh! autobiography!) *slaps forehead* Although i’ve never ever read a book twice, i’m willing to read this one again (yes, it’s that good!) Make sure you catch Lance in the Tour de France (2-24 July)–I think Showtime Sport will be showing it, yeah? not sure, but i’ll check the listings. He’s going to be retiring after this one, so I hope he wins (again! it would be number 7 if he does)!!
I went into Second Cup the other day, it was my first and LAST time! I mean, blurgh, i nearly threw up the “Frappaccino Wannabe” (that’s what i call their unpronouncable drink that’s supposed to be like a Frappaccino) Ick, yuck and gah! I’m never stepping foot in there again! *shudders* (to all Second Cup fans: I pity you) :p Bread Talk on the other hand is YUM-MY! wow! I got a ‘Chocolate Cup’ (i think that’s what it was called) I was at our stand/booth (whatever) at the exhibition eating it and the dude in the stand/booth next to us said to me (in a poor attempt to “break the ice”):
“Don’t you think you should be dieting istead of eating those?”
I felt like such a COW!! OMG! I just stared and zapped him with my invisible lazer rays. Then i replied back and said:
“Maybe i should be dieting, but have YOU considered dieting? Because you have breasts.”
Then i took a HUGE bite out of my chocolate cup. He never brought up the issue of weight again. I felt like shouting “Don’t mess with me biatch” out loud..but i think he got the message, lol.
On my way back home from the exhibition yesterday, I saw this car on the road…

Isn’t it the cutest thing ever?! I laughed my head off when i saw it, i salute the owner of the car for his originality! Way to go dude! Now he doesn’t have to use any gas, he could just pop out of his car twist the thingie and zoooom, he’s off! lol
Here’s what Soska did with the Johnny Rockets napkins:

Creative, yeah?
