Echoes of My Mind | February 26th 2007
One test and two presentations. Go ahead, ask me if I’m done preparing the presentations or studying for my quiz. Yalla, do it, ask me! Okay, on second thoughts, don’t ask me. (El magnouna aheh, aheh!)
On a lighter note, an amazing artist found me. Her music is extraordinary! How’d she “find” me? Well, I’m convinced that music finds me, I don’t prey the charts and listen to every top song and I don’t listen to the radio. It’s always a ‘by chance’ kind of thing. Thanks to Grey’s Anatomy, I heard ‘Dance me to the End of Love’ and it was…I’m lost for words…simply amazing. I’m not sure if I can fully explain it, but seriously, music finds me :)
Introducing Madeleine Peyroux, a thirty three year-old American Jazz singer who sounds just like Billie Holiday (well, at least to me she does).
‘Dance Me To the End of Love’
Her cover of Hary Nilsson’s ‘Everybody’s Talkin’ (a current favourite)
I actually heard Nilsson’s version first, Mika’s then Madeleine’s. I was surprised Madeleine had it on her new album - which is great. Her cover of ‘Smile’ is really good as well. :) Hope you enjoyed!
Here’s Madeleine’s ‘I’m All Right’ music video:
Till next time world!
Ta ta for now :*
