A Research Paper, and Jaffa | May 17th 2008

Sou thought out loud in Personal, Awareness, YouTube, University

I have a research paper due in less than 24 hours, and I’m nowhere near finished, nowhere! I don’t think I can cope with the pressure resulting from this paper, I really don’t. It’s a term paper on gestures used in seven different operatic adaptations of the same play we’ve been watching in class. Oh, and I need to mention that I had no choice on the play nor the topic of my paper, which probably explains why I’m finding such difficulty writing a (single-bloody-spaced) ten-page research paper.

Okay, now that I’m done ranting about my paper, I’d like to share two videos I watched last night.

In a two-part series Al Jazeera relives the tragic narrative of the Palestinian Nakba (catastrophe) through the stories of one street in the city of Jaffa.

Part 1:

Part 2:

If you have problems watching the above embedded videos, click here for part 1, and here for part 2.

Till next time world.

Sou | May 18th, 2008

Stephen: Jaffa cakes? Never heard of them. Hmm.

As for my paper, I finished it 30 minutes before handing it in!! :D

Amethyst: It is. :(

TAT: Yes, I left it for super, super last minute! Good news is I’m done with it, and I found out I’ll be given a chance to rewrite it too.

I’ve heard of coffee and cigarettes, but Pepsi and cigarettes?! First time for everything I suppose! Haha. :)

I got really engaged by the documentary considering I wasn’t going to watch it at first…
Are there anymore parts to it?

Sou | May 19th, 2008

TAT: Good theory. I can’t get up and go right back to sleep! I don’t know how you do it!

F: Why weren’t you going to watch it? And no, just two parts; don’t you wish there were more parts?!

TAT | May 19th, 2008

when that happens usually don’t fall asleep right away it’s a 4 hour toss and turn in bed and when you finally go to sleep it’s either time to get up or someone wakes you up!!!

Sou | May 20th, 2008

TAT: I woke up at 3:45 and I TRIED to go back to sleep, but I couldn’t. I know today’s going to be a terrible day. I hate it when I wake up at unearthly hours! BOO! :(

F. | May 21st, 2008

I don’t know…I wasn’t in a video mood.
But I changed my mind and I loved it…and yes I wish there were more parts.
