I woke up really early yesterday morning to do some final revision for my ‘Arabic Poetry Through the Ages’ class (Arabic Poetry-huh?!). The weather was really gloomy the other day, it’s been raining camels and goats and there are puddles of water everywhere. I arrived on campus at around 9:20, it was cold, wet and icky. Here’s what it looked it…

Gloomy, gloomy…did I mention gloomy?? So I entered the Language Centre and the first thing I did was check the grade for my ‘Islamic and Arabic Culture’ final and I got a B-, which is great judging I winged the whole exam! I spotted a girl I knew from my poetry class and I asked her if she studied well for the exam - her reply? “I studied well…but tell me, why didn’t you take the exam?” WHAT?!! WHAT DID SHE JUST SAY?!! “B, what do you mean “didn’t take the exam”?! The exam is in half an hour, it’s at 10!” She gave me the weirdest look and said, “No Sou, the exam was at 8!” That was when my jaw dropped to the floor. I ran to my professor’s office - yes, ran - and luckily he was in and shocked when I a)ran into his room b) bombarded him with questions (I’m sure what I said sounded like gibberish because I was speaking way too fast). To make a long story short, I’m taking the exam on Saturday which means I’ve got a few extra days to do some more revision.
My grandparents traveled back to Cairo two days ago; the house seems so empty without them. I miss the time my grandmother and I spent together. I actually can’t believe they’re back in Cairo already! I was sick two out of the four weeks they were here. I hope they come back soon, or better yet, I travel to Cairo! Yes, traveling to Cairo seems like a much better idea.
